Videos
Representaciones visuales que transmiten una impresión de movimiento cuando se muestran en sucesión. Los ejemplos incluyen animaciones, películas, cortometrajes, largometrajes, documentales, programas de televisión, resultados visuales de una simulación, etc. En el caso de los metadatos para un evento, estos proporcionan información descriptiva sobre el propósito, la ubicación, la duración y los agentes responsables asociados a un evento. El objetivo de este trabajo es recuperar los relatos de vida de los inmigrantes chinos y/o sus descendientes de la ciudad de Puntarenas del siglo XX para contribuir a la construcción del proceso de la inmigración china en Costa Rica. Este estudio analiza los relatos de vida de dieciocho inmigrantes y/o
descendientes directos de estos, todos adultos mayores del siglo XX. Se utiliza la técnica de relatos de vida propuesta por Bertaux (2005). Las conclusiones muestran que la comunidad china se ha insertado en la comunidad puntarenense de manera pacífica y amistosa, aportando sus rasgos culturales y costumbres e integrándose a la vida cotidiana de esta ciudad.

Testimonio escrito por el artista plástico Nicolás F. Shi de El Salvador en el cual recopila datos históricos de la vida de su padre. Narra el proceso de inmigración de su progenitor Chiu-gen (Rogelio Shi) a los quince años de edad, desde Cantón a El Salvador, y la negociación de su permanecia e integración en el país de acogida, que incluyen la red familiar, el afrontamiento de la exclusión social y el racismo, la adaptación de la cocina tradicional china, la convicencia con sus paisanos y las estrategias de preservación de la lengua china. Registra las experiencias de reencuentro con el país natal China en las décadas del 70 y 80. Este relato de vida se intercepta con la situación socio política de El Salvador y de China y su influencia en la vida individual. Permite también observar las percepciones y aspiraciones del progenitor y su hijo caracterizadas por las diferencias generacionales.

Estudia a las familias inmigrantes que partieron desde Guangdong (en el sur de China) hacia Brasil y se instalaron en Curitiba entre las décadas de 1950 y 1970, a partir de entrevistas de historia oral con la segundo generación de esta inmigración (es decir, hijos y nietos de inmigrantes chinos nacidos en Brasil) y fuentes de la prensa de Curitiba de la época. Entre nuestros principales objetivos está abordar las representaciones raciales sobre los chinos: cómo se constituyeron históricamente y sus posibles impactos en las experiencias de vida de los encuestados y sus familias; la inserción de las familias en la ciudad y las actividades económicas que desarrollaron (en particular, la panadería); qué relaciones establecen los entrevistados con su pasado y cómo se identifican y se ubican en la sociedad brasileña. Las facetas de las representaciones sobre chinos fueron discutidas a partir del estudio sobre la estética de la exclusión de Ana Paulina. La teoría de la triangulación racial de Lee y Claire Jean Kim, aún respaldada por las elaboraciones sobre inmigración y raza de Giralda Seyferth y la tesis sobre la identidad racial de Paraná de Benno Warken Alves. También buscamos analizar superposiciones y distinciones en estereotipos asociados con el chino y el japonés, que requirieron las contribuciones de Elisa Massae Sasaki sobre las narrativas que Japón ha creado sobre sí mismo. Para entender las formas de ayuda mutua que estos inmigrantes desarrollaron, hicimos uso de las investigaciones sobre redes migratorias de Oswaldo Truzzi, y pensamos en el papel de la comunidad para la identidad inmigrante de Giralda Seyferth. El comercio y consumo de heroína exigió una breve mirada a la historia del prohibicionismo de las drogas, para lo cual el apoyo de autores como Henrique Carneiro y Alfred McCoy fue fundamental. Entre otros teorías abordamos la memoria de los entrevistados desde las aportaciones de Joel Candau, y los procesos de identificación de Denys Cuche. El concepto de socioanálisis de Abdelmalek Sayad guió la reflexión sobre la comprensión u objetivación del pasado y los conflictos de aspectos intergeneracionales de la familia inmigrante por parte de los entrevistados. También se analizaron las narrativas orales a partir de conceptos como asimilación, aculturación y transnacionalismo; la percepción de la discriminación racial y, en particular, la demanda de brasilidad como lo señala Jeffrey Lesser.

Pretende contribuir al entendimiento mutuo, la tolerancia y la buena convivencia entre los españoles y sus vecinos chinos, tanto China como España han experimentado cambios históricos en las últimas décadas. Los españoles fueron emigrantes hace años y ahora están haciéndose anfitrión recibiendo el mundo en su casa; el cambio de roles dentro de tan poco tiempo es un desafío. En cuanto a los inmigrantes chinos todavía están mareados por el cambio de entorno. Se espera abrir una ventana para que los chinos se conozcan mejor que antes a través de esta investigación cualitativa sobre las mujeres trabajadoras inmigrantes del norte de China en España.

¿Dónde encuentra terreno la semilla de la recuperación del trauma, de la enfermedad, de la lesión? ¿Dónde echa raíces y comienza a crecer? ¿Puede uno encontrar empoderamiento en un cuerpo, sometido a la enfermedad, al trauma y a la discapacidad? En este artículo autobiográfico de la sino descendiente Sarahí Lay Trigo, el lector se aventura en un viaje hacia la enfermedad, donde la desesperación amenaza la propia voluntad de vivir. De hecho, Sarahí se convierte para sí misma en algo extraño, grotesco y se transforma en algo completamente diferente, su other-self, su otra yo. Y aún así brota la esperanza. Esta obra tiene dos voces: la voz principal describe el poder de danza en la curación de la parálisis (hemiparesia corporal y desfiguración completa del cara) debido a la encefalitis viral causada por el herpes zoster (varicela). Sentenciada a no volver a caminar, recurre desesperada y obstinadamente a la danza para lograr su recuperación. Le tomó dos años volver a clases formales de danza y siete años volver a bailar de manera profesional. En este artículo, Sarahí comparte cómo la danza puede ser más que un arte estético y puede apoyar el proceso de rehabilitación transformadora. La voz secundaria, de la coautora, insta a los terapeutas a escuchar atentamente esta experiencia que profundiza en la enfermedad y la curación. En suma, esta experiencia autobiográfica invita a los terapeutas del movimiento a mejorar su comprensión de la experiencia de la rehabilitación y la psicología de la enfermedad y, por lo tanto, a profundizar en su capacidad para apoyar clínicamente el doloroso proceso de integración cuando la curación no parece un volver a un nivel de funcionamiento anterior.
